EasyMove guide

Can a man and van change the price on the day?

With most man-and-van operators, yes — the quote is a starting number, and re-pricing at the door for access, parking or under-listed items is a well-known complaint. With EasyMove, no: the price you see is the price you pay.

What others bill on the day

  • Hourly rate overruns when the job runs long
  • Stairs, no-lift and long-carry fees
  • Waiting time and parking / suspension costs
  • ULEZ, Clean Air Zone and congestion charges
  • Fuel surcharges and “access” fees at the door

What EasyMove does instead

  • One fixed price, quoted before you book
  • Stairs, waiting and long carries priced in
  • ULEZ, parking and congestion included
  • £25,000 goods-in-transit cover included
  • Only changes if you add items or change address

How Price Lock works

EasyMove estimates the job time from your inventory rather than running a stopwatch, and prices every likely cost — stairs, waiting, parking, ULEZ, congestion, traffic — into the quote. That quote is contractual. If our estimate is wrong and the inventory you gave was honest, we absorb it. Read the exact terms in our Price Lock clause.

FAQs

Can a man and van change the price on the day?

With most operators, yes. Hourly pricing means any delay adds cost, and quotes are often re-priced at the door for stairs, parking, access or under-listed items. With EasyMove the price is fixed under Price Lock — the only thing that can change it is you adding items or changing an address.

What hidden charges do man and van companies add?

Common day-of charges are: overtime when an hourly job runs long, stairs and long-carry fees, waiting time, parking and parking-suspension costs, ULEZ and congestion charges, and fuel surcharges. EasyMove includes all of these in the quoted price.

Does EasyMove charge extra for stairs or no lift?

No. Stairs and floor access are estimated from your inventory and priced into the quote up front. You are never charged extra for stairs on the day.

What happens if the job takes longer than expected?

If our time estimate is too low but your inventory and access details were accurate, EasyMove absorbs the difference. You pay the price you were quoted.
