1. Who we are
EasyMove Man and Van is operated by Magnificentech Solutions Ltd, registered in England and Wales, the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
2. Data we collect
2.1. Booking details — your name, email, phone number, collection and delivery addresses, move date and the details of what you are moving.
2.2. Account details — if you create an account, your username and a securely hashed password.
2.3. Payment details — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; we hold a transaction reference and the amount.
2.4. Driver applications — if you apply to drive with us, your contact details and the documents you upload (driving licence, insurance, public liability, vehicle photo).
2.5. Technical data — limited information needed to run the site securely, as described in our Cookie Policy.
3. How and why we use it
3.1. To provide the service you booked — generating quotes, taking payment, and assigning a driver to carry out your move (legal basis: performance of a contract).
3.2. To communicate with you about your booking and respond to enquiries and complaints (contract / legitimate interests).
3.3. To vet and verify drivers who apply to work with us (legitimate interests / legal obligation).
3.4. To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation).
4. Who we share it with
4.1. The assigned driver, so they can carry out your move — limited to what they need (your name, addresses, contact number and move details).
4.2. Stripe, our payment processor, to take and secure payments.
4.3. Professional advisers and authorities where we are legally required to do so.
4.4. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
5. How long we keep it
We keep customer data for 3 years, driver data for 6 years, and financial records for 7 years, in line with UK legal requirements, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email support@easymovevan.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
